Boat People Memorial Unveiled

August 29, 2026 The community gathered at the Vietnamese Cultural Center to see the unveiling of the Đài Thương Tiếc Thuyền Nhân - Memorial of Boat People. The effort was sponsored by Mr. Nguyễn Lam Sơn and Mrs. Trần Thanh Xuân (Anna). Graphic design was by Mr. Nguyễn Trí Hào. After years of planning, this memorial is open to visitors to come and read about the life experienced by people who left by boat for freedom. Not all made it but those who survived remember them and their journey.
